Multi-Media Producer, Writer & Story Editor

To summarize my career more concretely for those of you still reading, in my student years, I flirted with acting, theater, poetry, and critical theory. Then I got my first job job at Human Rights Watch, where my documentary career began. I dipped my toes into documentary filmmaking and got trained on how to conduct trauma-informed interviews and international reporting. Then I wanted to do storytelling domestically, so I went over to the StoryCorps Mobile Tour. That was a crash course in field production, oral history, public speaking and audio editing. I fell in love with audio, and threw myself into it. After a year of hands-on production experience on some narrative shows, I went for more training at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies. Coming out of Salt, my audio career kept growing: I worked on a weekly narrative history podcast for Sony/Somethin’ Else, an interview-based memoir for Audible called Three Prisons, and then a 30-Day Creativity Guide with Sharon Mashihi–some of my favorite projects yet! At the same time, I developed new business shows for LinkedIn, and as the tides changed for interview podcasts, I became a video show development producer. You can see some of that work on my LinkedIn page. As I venture back into video production, I stay committed to beautiful storytelling, and flexible about the way audiences reach that story. Regardless of the kind of projects I do, I always bring energy for playfulness, creativity and collaboration, because making things is just better that way.


Born in Tehran and based in New York, I’m a graduate of the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies, a former Union Docs Pod Pod Resident and Woodward Residency Resident. I graduated from NYU with my bachelors in Social & Cultural Analysis, and minor in Poetry.
